About Us
Sue’s Hair Upstairs opened in Dawson Creek, BC in July 2007.
After working many years in large scale salons, I went on my own so I could have more control over my schedule, allowing me to be flexible for my clients, as well as maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Over the years I went from only providing hair services, with a minimal amount of product, to now carrying three full lines, as well as my favorite products from many others that we sell both in store and now online.
I love the relationship I’ve built with my clients, and I adore being a “day maker,” the “best part of someone’s day,” or sometimes a “life changer” in the sense that someone’s life transforms when they have great hair. I’ve always believed that everyone should be able to have good hair, regardless of their income level and that belief plays a large role in why I keep my prices at par (or lower) than salons in the surrounding area.

And now, I've made those same products and prices available to the world though our online store.
Community values lay strong with me as well. I have always played a large part in community volunteering or donating.
I have served on the South Peace Community Resources Society Board since 2013. I have been a member of the “100 Women Who Care” – Dawson Creek Chapter since it began in 2018. I am a new board member of the Dawson Creek Mental Health Consumer Support Society since April 2020, prior to that I contributed with donations for many years. I have always, and will always be a big supporter of any children who are going door to door fundraising – whatever the cause is, I will do whatever I possibly can to support and help the children succeed in achieving their goals.
I love what I do, and I love being able to contribute and give back to the community that supports me in achieving my dreams and my goals.
With that I will end this by saying a big THANK YOU to you, my customers, for not only taking the time to read this, but for supporting me every step of the way and giving me the ability to do what I do.
Love ya, Sue.
